By investing in one another and our surroundings we build a beautiful community.

Karen is married to her lovely husband Mark Miller and they have six beautiful children and one grandchild. Karen enjoys the outdoors and art.

Bo DeforestYouth Sports Director; Maintenance Direcrtor
Bo De Forest was Born and raised in Oregon. In 1983, his father accepted a job at La Pine High School as a teacher and coach of football and wrestling. As long as he can remember his father has emphasized the importance of a good work ethic and being well rounded in sports and in life. Now having two boys of his own, he found it natural to teach his kids and others life lessons through coaching.

Motivated by wanting youth to be proud of where they are from and themselves, Bo was hired in 2014 as the Head Baseball Coach and 2016 as the Head Football Coach at La Pine High. In his short time there disappointing seasons have become successful ones. Bo credits the La Pine Park and Recreation District for building the foundation to assist the youth of La Pine and the incredible support of the parents and community for the recent success. Bo’s wife of 22 years also works in athletics at La Pine High. The La Pine youth has become their passion and athletics is the vehicle they use to hopefully make a positive impact in young men and women’s lives. When not in sports, Bo and his family enjoy all the other great opportunities La Pine offers including Hunting, Fishing and spending time outside.
